Benefits of Learning Piano
Whether for children or for adults, learning piano is an absolute advantage for a healthy mind.
In Psychology Today, studying music is linked directly to academic achievement. By committing to lessons, one can expect broadening their perspective, social awareness, higher cognitive performances and a sharper coordination.
Besides these, students are more apt for language learning, pattern recognition, time management, and breaking down complex problems into more manageable ones.
For the social perspective, long term students are more socially sensible, and self confident in public settings.
Not only academic achievement, but piano students are more likely to develop site-reading skills, bettering the application of new information and a daily break from social media.
Music is a gateway only your limits can define.
What to expect
Here are some of the most frequently asked questions for prospective students.
-
After signing up, you will receive access to an Appointment Calendar and there you can lock in your time.
-
First, you should have a keyboard or acoustic piano, a computer or tablet with the ZOOM program, headphones, and a reliable internet connection.
Besides this, you will need
pencil and paper for taking notes
to purchase / download and print the sheet music for the lessons.
-
You will learn music theory, performance techniques, and piano repertoire according to your level and as defined in lessons.
It is totally fine - and commendable - to explore music outside of lessons as well, as long as it does not hinder the suggested curriculum for classes.
-
It is never too early, or too late, to start piano! Whether the lessons are for a child, or for an adult, Jeremy will work with each student passionately and accordingly.
In fact, Jeremy has experience teaching music to children as early as 3 years old all the way up to adults who are exploring music as a hobby.
-
Jeremy is completely fluent - and can teach - in English, Spanish, and Catalan.
He also has a conversational level of French, Italian and Portuguese. These can be explored if you prefer one of these languages.
-
A student’s goal should be consistency. As a good starting point, they should apply approximately the same amount of practice time as their lesson time. So, for 45-minute lessons, they should be practicing around 45 minutes a day with one day or two days of rest.
Think of it as a sport, a healthy practice involves different levels of energy and intensity followed by days of rest.
-
Rescheduling is not a problem, under two conditions.
Firstly, when you sign up for classes, you will be given access to the Appointment Calendar, from which you can assign your weekly slot & modify your classes according to availability.
Secondly, you can reschedule your piano lesson up until 24 hours before the class. After that, it’s locked in.
In short, it is recommended to not move your weekly slot unless completely necessary.

After signing up for classes, Jeremy will get in touch to share details.
If the classes are for a child, parents/guardians are free to occasionally attend the child's classes if they so prefer, although it is not encouraged as to avoid hindering the student's learning. There will be programmed student recitals to showcase each students' progress and also encourage building a community of support amongst the students. Parents also have the option to wait in the garden during the lesson (weather permitting), there are also plenty of hiking trails by the music studio, and also different cafe's and bars in town.
